HUNDREDS of heavy horses, carriages, riders, hounds and vintage vehicles took part in The Essex Heavy Horse and Driving show at the weekend.
The event, which took place near Barleylands, in Billericay on Sunday and included classes and displays, was a ‘huge success’.
John Peacock, chairman of the Essex Shire Horse Association, was thrilled with the amount of people that took part in the event and with the crowds that turned up to watch.
He said: “It was very successful. We had come people involved, the venue was nice and the activities were good.
“There were good entrants, which is important, you can’t run a show without them.
“We had bigger classes here than in two or three years, so I’m delighted with that.
“Everything was positive and all the feedback was good.”
