A GENEROUS donation of £3,000 has been given to Southend hospital for a much needed for a neonatal incubator.
Southend-based New Leaf Distribution Ltd, financial advisors, has kindly donated £3,000 to Southend Hospital’s Neonatal Unit as part of the hospital’s Giraffe Omnibed Appeal.
The Giraffe Omnibed is a much-needed incubator for the intensive care room in the Neonatal Unit. The unit already has two giraffes but would benefit greatly by having an extra one.
This high-tech equipment combines features of a traditional incubator, but the lifting canopy also allows extra access for clinicians to respond quickly to the changing needs of the patient. The flexibility also enables the family to have closer contact with their new-born baby.
Sarah Mitchell and Tina Hobbs, from New Leaf Distribution Ltd, said: “We have made our donation today as Southend Hospital is doing a fantastic job and we wanted to show our appreciation and help get the equipment.”
Elise Fleetwood, Fundraising Manager at the hospital, added: “We are absolutely delighted to receive continued support from New Leaf. This contribution will make a huge difference to the appeal total, allowing us to get this vital equipment in our Neonatal Unit asap. We are extremely thankful.”
