DRAG queens, comics, dancers, singers and musicians have been working hard in preparation for the annual Southend Hospital’s Got Talent show.

At the weekend the acts taking part in the fundraiser show- in aid of the Southend Hospital Dementia Appeal- had an all-important dress rehearsal at the Masters Performing Arts College, at Rayleigh Weir.

There will be a huge variety of acts performing from drag queens, to singers and dancers- with acts of all ages, at the show in two weeks time.

Nicola Drabble, a fundraiser who is helping organise the show, said the dress rehearsal was a huge success.

She said: “We are trying to supplement their appeal.

“The dress rehearsal went really well.

“It was a chance to see all the acts with a run through of the show before the event in two weeks time.

“There is a good mix of acts and many talented acts.

“We are very happy with how it went.

“We have some young dancers, some teenage singers, a very funny mystic comic and a very good clarinettist and we have some more senior ladies doing a good routine.

“We have a good mix of the young and old.

“It is the fourth or fifth time we are running the show.”

The event is on Saturday October 8 at 7pm at the Palace Theatre, Westcliff. Tickets are £15, concessions £12.50.

They are available through the Palace Theatre box office on 01702 351135.
