MORE than 100 people attended a coffee morning to raise money for a firefighter who lost his life.
Shoebury Fire Station held the MacMillan coffee morning in honour of fireman Steve Peacher who tragically lost his life to throat cancer last December.
The morning saw residents show their support by enjoying a piece of cake and making a donation to the charity.
Dan Trendell, from the fire station, said the day was a big success.
He said: “It went really well. We had loads of people turn up and we had loads of cakes. It was a really nice day in honour of Steve.
“We raised £700 and still have money coming in so we are hoping to hold more in the future.”
Mr Peacher lost his life after battling cancer for years.
Macmillan coffee morning’s are the biggest in the world.
