A MAN was left unconscious following an assault in a pub.

The incident happened in the White Hart, in Great Wakering High Street, just after 11.30pm on New Year’s Eve.

A man in his 50s and a man in his 40s were assaulted and received serious injuries. One of the men was knocked unconscious during the assault.

The suspect is described as between 5ft and 6ft in height, of medium athletic build, with a moustache and dark hair.

He is believed to be between 25 and 35-years-old and was wearing a tight fitting white T-shirt. He had a blue jacket with him and spoke with a local accent.

Prior to the incident he was seen drinking in the pub with an older man and two women.

The older man was described as white, around 60 years old with white hair and a round face.

He was of medium build and well spoken.

One of the women was also described as being around 60, with ash blonde hair cut in a bob and was of medium build and height.

The second woman was in her 20s, of slim build, had long dark brown hair and was wearing all black clothing.

Following the altercation the man police are looking to speak to left the pub and made his way on foot along the high street.
