A WOMAN has been rescued from a fire at her house for the second time in four days.

Firefighters were called to Quilters Straight, Basildon, at 7.30pm last night.

This is the second time a fire has been reported at the address, with another incident on Saturday.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “When crews arrived they immediately entered the building to rescue a woman.

"Crews extinguished the fire quickly and left the woman in the care of the Ambulance Service.

"An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway."

A police spokesman confirmed the fires occurred at the same address but would not comment further at this time.

On Saturday, bystanders smashed their way in to save the woman, a cat and a dog from the fire which happened just after 7pm.
