A TEAM of enterprising students have taken part in a virtual tourism project in collaboration with Rochford District Council.
The assignment formed part of a Business Studies degree at South Essex College and focused on how to boost economic growth in the Rochford district.
It examined possible options to improve sustainable access to Wallasea Island Wild Coast Project, Europe’s largest intertidal habitat for birds.
Councillor George Ioannou, Rochford District Council’s member for Enterprise, said: “I would like to congratulate these students for the enthusiasm they showed in tackling a real-world example, carefully exploring any practical difficulties that needed to be overcome.
“It is wonderful to have a fresh pair of eyes to examine tourism opportunities and it is possible that some of their input could even influence future decisions.”
