A man has been charged with theft and driving with no insurance and two men were arrested for drugs offences following a policing operation in Basildon.
Officers were stopping vehicles in Eastmayne and Cranes Farm Road on Wednesday, May 10.
Police found 30 people driving at excess speed, 24 people had no licence, MOT or insurance, five people were caught using their mobile phones while driving and 65 people were not wearing a seat belt.
One vehicle was found to be in a dangerous condition and four vehicles were seized.
Ross Taylor, 29, unemployed, of Long Meadow Drive, Wickford, was arrested at the scene on three counts of theft and driving with no insurance.
He was later charged and is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, June 6.
Police also arrested a 25-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both from Basildon, on possession of cocaine and cannabis. They have been released under investigation.
