POLICE are appealing for information to help identify a number of people riding motorbikes dangerously.

The motorbikes have been captured on road safety cameras speeding, performing stunts such as wheelies, and driving dangerously.

This photo was taken in Southend Road, Hockley, just after 7pm on July 16.

Adam Pipe, casualty reduction manager at Essex Police, said: “This kind of riding is dangerous and reckless.

“The way these motorbikes are being ridden presents a danger, not only to the riders, but to pedestrians and other road users.

“In some cases the riders are not wearing protective clothing meaning that should they have a crash, they risk suffering serious injuries.

“Safety cameras in South Road in South Ockendon, High Street in Chipping Ongar, Southend Road in Hockley, and Shenfield Road in Shenfield have been activated a number of times showing these are not one-off incidents.

“If you recognise any of the people pictured or their motorbikes, or have witnessed riding like this, I urge you to contact us.

“This type of riding is unacceptable and has no place on our roads. We will do everything we can to stamp it out.”

Anyone with any information about these riders or motorbikes is asked to email infomotorbikes@essex.pnn.police.uk with the reference number attached.
