Several hundred visitors flocked to Wickford high street to watch the procession parade through the town.
Everyone clearly enjoyed watching the colourful procession and entertainment acts at the event.
The procession began at Church End Lane, then paraded in Swan Lane, and along the High Street before finishing at Nevendon Park.
A variety of acts took part in the event, including majorettes, bagpipe players and dancers.
The emergency services also joined in the special event, including Essex Fire and Rescue Service who headed the procession.
The carnival was taken over by Frank Lee and his wife Angela four years ago and it was under their leadership that the procession was introduced.
Speaking before the procession began, Mr Lee said: “I’m glad it’s not raining.
“It’s a little bit wet on the ground but we can all put up with that, it’s the rain we can’t put up with. I thought the field was going to be awash, but thankfully it wasn’t.”
The carnival continued at Nevendon Park after the procession ended.
