A man suffered burns after hot coffee was thrown in his face during a fight.

Officers from British Transport Police are releasing CCTV images of a man they wish to speak with in connection to the incident at Benfleet station. 

The incident occurred on the 6.27am c2c service from Benfleet to Fenchurch on September 26.

Shortly before the train was due to depart, there was an altercation on the station platform between two male passengers.

During the fight, one of the men threw his cup of coffee inside the train. 

The hot liquid hit a 21-year-old man in the face resulting minor burns, reddening and soreness. The suspect then left the station.

Today, officers are releasing CCTV images of a man they wish to speak with in connection to this incident.
