A road was sealed off by police after a boy, 12, was hit by a car.
The accident happened on Monday at around 4pm where a Ford Mondeo crashed into the boy in Rectory Road, Pitsea.
Police were called to the scene and closed off the road until 4.45pm.
Two ambulance crews also attended the scene. The boy and a woman in her 60s, who had suffered a suspected stroke, were taken to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital for further care.
An Essex Police spokesman confirmed no arrests were made.
