A CARE home has maintained its ‘good’ care quality commission rating.

Mountdale Nursing Home, in Mountdale Gardens, Leigh, was inspected on November 14 and 16, and was rated as ‘good’ in every inspection category, included leadership, effectiveness and caring.

The management in the home was highly praised by the inspector, who was impressed with the managers committment to engaging with residents and working with their feedback.

The report said: “Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people’s safety and welfare. People were safeguarded from the potential of harm and their freedoms protected. Staff were provided with training in safeguarding adults from abuse, Mental Capacity Act (MCA) 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).

“People had sufficient amounts to eat and drink to ensure that their dietary and nutritional needs were met.

“People were provided with the opportunity to participate in activities which interested them at the service.”

The home accommodates 22 residents and is working at full capacity.

Mountdale specialises in care for over and under 65s, dementia care, eating disorders, learning disabilities, physical disabilites and substance misuse problems.
