A LIQUID storage terminal has said 'strong smells' of fumes are not coming from the site, after residents complained.
Those living near Oikos Storage on Canvey Island have complained of a diesel-type smell over the past few days.
However the storage company has carried out site tests and failed to find anything untoward.
A spokesman said: "An odour was reported for a short time last Tuesday morning and again on Wednesday morning close to the north west perimeter of the facility.
"A team of independent consultants were immediately sent out to investigate the odour. Nothing was picked up on there specialist equipment, and the smell eventually dispersed.
"There were subsequently no further complaints but we will keep monitoring this situation.
"Oikos takes its role within the community and environment very seriously.”
The spokesman said another survey was carried out yesterday (Thursday) but again nothing suspicious was found.
