The 4th Rochford Scout Group visited the Peaceful Place Charity.
Six Scouts and four Cubs went along to the day centre, in Dalys Road, Rochford, to help make red and white decorations for the upcoming St George’s Day with the centre members, who have young onset dementia.
Spokesperson Lyn Smee said: “The Scouts and members all coming together like this really makes a difference.
“It increases the confidence of the Scouts and younger Cubs and lets them see that there is nothing to be afraid of meeting people with dementia.
“The members love having a visit from the youngsters. One of our members when he was a teenager, even went to the 12th World Scout Jamboree in Idaho, America in 1967, which the kids loved hearing about.”
