HARRY Wheeler believes Billericay Town will win the league tomorrow if they play as they did in the second 45 minutes on Saturday.

The Town head coach was full of praise for his charges after watching Billericay come from behind to defeat Isthmian Premier League play-off hopefuls Margate 2-1 at Hartsdown Park.

Goals from Sam Deering and Jake Robinson were enough for Billericay in the end.

And, although Town weren’t able to win the title at Margate as they did six years ago following Dulwich Hamlet’s win, Wheeler has backed his players to do it under the AGP Arena floodlights against Harlow Town.

“It was a vital win for us as we knew what a good team Margate were,” said Wheeler. “We weren’t very good in the first half, the boys didn’t apply what I wanted and we got punished.

“But we reacted in the right way and got the equaliser five minutes later and that shows what good characters they are.

“In the second half they applied all I asked of them and that’s why we came out with the desired result.

“I was delighted with the guys but we are really focused on tomorrow now.

“We will prepare right and do our homework as always and attempt to get the job done.

“If we turn up and put in a second half performance like we did against Margate we will win.”

Saturday’s game could have gone either way, with some excellent saves from Alan Julian keeping Town in the match.

And Wheeler praised Town for being more clinical in front of goal as well.

“Since I have asked them to be more clinical they have been and I cant fault that,” said the Town head coach.

“Alan Julian was fantastic but that is his job. It is the same with Jake, it was a great penalty under pressure.

“Tomorrow is the first time we haven’t got to look at someone else’s result. We can win it, let’s do it.”
