Police are appealing for further witnesses following a road traffic collision in which five pedestrians were injured.

A blue BMW 120D was in collision with the five men in Furtherwick Road, Canvey, shortly after 4.10pm on Saturday, April 14.

An 18-year-old man from has been charged with four counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, one count of aggravated vehicle taking and one count of driving without insurance.

He has been remanded to appear at Basildon Crown Court on May 14.

A 17-year-old boy from Canvey who was arrested in connection with the incident was released on bail until May 5, pending further enquiries.

Essex Police are looking to trace people in two vehicles who are potential witnesses in connection with our investigation.

They are the driver of a white Ford Transit type van and the occupants of a white Ford Fiesta, which were seen driving behind the BMW in Furtherwick Road before the Fiesta turned into Meadway.
