HULLBRIDGE Sports manager Darren Manning has urged his players to secure their Essex Senior League status sooner rather than later.

Sports have three matches remaining this season, beginning tonight at Lower Road against 11th placed Ilford.

Following a poor display on Saturday that resulted in a 3-1 reverse against already relegated Hackney Wick, Sports know a repeat performance would be unacceptable this evening.

And Manning has called on his players to produce more than they are currently doing.

“We are one win away and I want it all sorted sooner rather than later,” said the Hullbridge manager. “I was away for Saturday’s match but I have watched the footage.

“We missed some good opportunities once again and conceded silly goals once again.

“That needs to change against a very good side tonight.”

Sports will be without Eamon Payne, Conor Mead and Matt Tapley, although Perry Dunn returns.

Southend Manor face an uphill battle against promotion hunting Redbridge but are another team looking to end a forgettable season on a high.

A 4-3 win on Saturday - having been 3-0 down at half-time - ensured Manor’s place in the division for next season.

But Adam Peek will be determined his team do not stop playing following the result.

Redbridge will be targeting all three points to take the promotion chase right down to the wire.

A win will take the Motormen level on points with FC Romania and Basildon United.
