A community is organising a peacful march down Southend high street after a fatal stabbing last night.

Police have launched a murder investigation after a young boy was killed outside the Forum last night.

In response to the awful news, Southend rapper Sonny Green is organising a march down the high street as a gesture of solidarity to show the community coming together.

Sonny said: "I'm the administrator of the We Love Southend and there's 6,000 members in there so I try to do what I can to make Southend a better place.

"When I saw someone had been killed, I felt something needs to be done - people need to try and show everyone that we are not just going to stand by and let things carry on as they are.

"It is up to people to stand up and be counted and encourage people to come out and meet each other and not just sit behind their computers - we need to come together."

If you are free at 1pm today, join the community in showing solidarity against violence and march down Southend high street.

Sonny is meeting at WH Smiths at 1pm in at the top of Southend high street.
