A NEW indoor crazy golf course with a difference has opened.

Caddies, in London Road, Southend offers all the fun of crazy golf but also with cocktails and a restaurant.

The attraction opened on Saturday and staff at the business said it has been very busy with a lot of interest.

Caddies allows visitors to eat, drink and putt, and is London-style social entertainment venue which blends competitive fun, an eccentric British barbecue menu and retro 70s decor.

The courses include a mixture of obstacles and impressive interior decor.

There are two, nine-hole crazy golf courses.

Each course starts in the secret garden area, before players putt their way into the Retro-Eccentric Clubhouse - all while enjoying a drink from the bar.

As it is inside, the putting can be enjoyed in all weathers.

The Clubhouse Family Restaurant serves up oak fired smoked meats, Caddies craft burgers and a plant-based menu as well.

George Bejko-Cowlbeck, 27, duty manager at the golf centre, said they have had great feedback from the public.

He said: “We offer the full package. The number of enquiries has gone crazy and it’s looking like it’ll be the place to go for a work or group activity for some time.

“There are similar businesses but we are the first evolving attraction as we offer the food and cocktails and it’s unique in that respect.

“We are getting a lot of people coming to find out what we offer and then they want to come back again.”
