AN ANNUAL art event showcasing south Essex talent is proving to be a great success.
The annual Leigh Art Trail, established in 1997, involves 63 events at 50 venues
Organiser Wendy Scotland said: “The support from the public has been phenomenal.
“All along the route our artists are getting a terrific response.
“So many people are saying it’s the best year ever.
“You only have to see the breathtaking array of work to recognise Leigh’s artistic community is thriving and it’s wonderful to put on an event where community is celebrating that.”
The event has seen plenty of colourful works decorate and brighten up the town.
These include Belfairs Woodland Centre, St Clement’s Church, Leigh Community Centre and many more.
Various artists have been showcasing their works for visitors and art lovers to enjoy.
Some of the artists include Alison Bournes who has created a tribute to the victims of a 17th Century shipwreck at Southend.
Dave Nevard has created expressionist paintings.
Yu Lan Burkmar is displaying her jewellery work.
Karen Hamer has created Elvis-inspired ceramics.
