A 20-year-old man has been charged after a teenager was stabbed in Southend.

Max Hyde, of no fixed address, will appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court today, Friday, July 13, after being charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

We received reports that a 16-year-old boy had been stabbed on Central Avenue just before 4pm on Wednesday, July 11.

The boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

He has since been released and is recovering.

A 34-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been released on bail until Tuesday, August 7.
