A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and growing cannabis after an armed raid this morning.

Officers from the Met Police executed an arrest warrant at an address in Crays Hill, Billericay, 6.25am today.

A spokesman from the force said: "Officers, including armed officers, attended.

"A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and cultivation of cannabis.

"He has been taken to an east London police station.

"Enquiries continue."
