A new music themed play area has been opened in Belhus Country Park.

The new play equipment is designed especially for the park and has a music, rhythm and performance themed play area at the Aveley park.

Essex County Council cabinet member for the environment and waste, Simon Walsh, joined the Country Parks team for the official opening.

He said: "I'm very proud to be involved in the opening of the new play area at Belhus Woods.

"On such a glorious day i was marvellous to listen to the sound of the families putting the new play area to good use.

"The park itself is beautiful and a great space for its diverse range of visitors - families, dog walkers and runners to name a few.

"We're very lucky as the park combines ancient woodland, working wood, flower meadows, fishing and conservation lakes, so there is something for everyone."

It was officially opened on Thursday.
