A CHILDREN'S hospice welcomed a footballing legend.
Former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton and his wife Steph visited Little Havens Hospice in Thundersley on Monday August 13.
Staff and families enjoyed a morning of football related craft by Peter and his wife Steph, who also learnt more about what the hospice does and who it cares for.
Peter said: “It was an absolute pleasure to meet the families today at Little Havens, their stories were incredibly inspirational and I thoroughly enjoyed speaking to the children about football.
“I was surprised to learn that Little Havens is the only place in Essex that is wholly dedicated to looking after youngsters with life-limiting illnesses – I am very honoured to have been able to join them for the day.”
Play Specialist at Little Havens, Jane Harwood, said, “Thank you so much to Peter and Steph for joining us today and ‘Making every day count’ for some of our families, we all really enjoyed meeting them."
Little Havens Hospice is part of Havens Hospices which incorporates Fair Havens Hospice for adults and The J’s Hospice for young people, all the hospice services focus on the individual needs of the adults, babies, children and teenagers.
