A MULTI Brit Award-winning band that had a string of UK Top 40s in the noughties have filmed a music video in Southend as part of their sixth studio album.

The Streets, a musical project headed by vocalist Mike Skinner, are known for their hip-hop, garage, and grime music.

Emma Dodson, digital marketer at the Stockvale Group who own Adventure Island, said: “Companies and celebrities choosing to film in Southend leaves nothing but a positive impact.

“It raises the city’s profile, in terms of pulling in more tourists, and that ultimately means more people using businesses.

“With Mike’s new music video, it is definitely putting Southend on the map once again.”

The Hope Hotel, and the Cornucopia pub also star in the video and have been contacted by the Echo.

The music video sees two men facing a dilemma, and they try to work out after their plans go wrong.

The song projects the message of overcoming adversities and treating every day as a fresh start.

Each Day Gives is a preview of their sixth studio album The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light, which will be released on October 20 alongside a feature film under the same name.

South Essex-born popstar Anne-Marie filmed her SAD B!TCH music video in its entirety at the UK’s number one free admission fun park back in February.

She can be seen walking around the empty theme park and rides popular attractions, such as Rage, Archelon, Flying Jumbos and Over The Hill, as well as performing in front of the City Wheel.

Marc Miller, managing director of the Stockvale Group, echoes Ms Dodson.

He said: “Any and all filming must help in raising awareness of what’s on offer in Southend.

“We know it puts Southend in potential customers front of mind when it comes to picking somewhere to go with the family.

“We, at Adventure Island, have always made a fuss of film crews, which we like to think may decide their choice of venue moving forward.”
