THEY were disappointed to have to cancel their ambitious Zummer of Zwing at the Kursaal, but Southend swing band the Zoltans have bounced back with a gig in Rochford to celebrate the Battle of Britain.
Their sounds will be perfectly in tune with the event, where visitors are encouraged to wear Forties outfits and military uniforms.
The Zoltans had been planning a series of swing nights at the Kursaal throughout the summer, but due to a lack of interest they had to cancel the event.
Undeterred, the band will play a set of old classics, including tunes by Cab Calloway, Glenn Miller, Louis Jordan and Louis Prima.
The Zoltans play at the Kings Head Inn, in Rochford Square, Rochford, on Friday, at 9pm. Entry is free.
