The travellers of Dale Farm may be warm and gentle, according to Vanessa Redgrave, but it doesn’t entitle them to break the law. A traveller “mum” was quoted as asking “where will we go?”

You’re a traveller, dear, travel!

Kathleen McCarthy was interviewed on BBC by Stephen Nolan who tied her in knots regarding her attitude to the law and whether it was being broken.

She even laid claim to being born here. She was then offered a legal pitch in the Liverpool area, which she accepted on air more than once, but there’s no sign of her leaving yet.

One minute they are wanting permanent housing, next they say they are travellers, now it’s ethnic cleansing.

They are not an ethnic minority, they are a section of the Irish population who have chosen this way of life to suit themselves.

They come here because councils cater for their needs. Why have permanent sites across the UK for people who, by their very own description, travel?
