FIRE crews were called to a blaze in a field of corn.
The fire broke out in the standing crop in fields on The Manorway, Corringham at around 10.30am on Sunday.
Two fire engines from Corringham and one from Orsett tackled the blaze.
Using hose reels, back pack spayers and beaters, they finally put the fire out within 30-minutes by 11am.
The cause of the fire is not known.
