THOSE with a love of all things theatrical are in for a treat this summer as the Royal Opera House launches a new series of summer workshops at its Purfleet production park.

Royal Opera House Education in Thurrock is running workshops to create a unique installation which will premiere at the Orsett Show and then be on display in the stables at the High House Production Park.

Anyone with an interest in creating digital art, learning more about sound or would like to get involved in creating a piece of artwork for the community can involve themselves in the fascinating process and join a team of others keen to learn about what goes on behind the scenes at the world famous organisation.

There are three different workshops to choose from, and they’re suitable for different ages and interests. Two separate week-long technical workshops will create a soundscape and short films.

These workshops are open to anyone aged 12 and above.

During the daily creative workshops, which are led by professional designers and artists, participants will create and source sets, props and costumes. These workshops are open to anyone aged seven and above.

The workshops run from Monday, August 13, to Friday, August 17, and take place at the High House Production Park in Purfleet. Each workshop will be led by professional theatrical artists. All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
