It can take time, money and effort to line up gallery space and host an exhibition, but two artists realised they had the perfect space right under their noses and will throw an exhibition this weekend in one of their homes. Photographer Joe Lang and artist and curator Jon Kipps decided to turn an empty room in Joe’s house, in Hadleigh , into a gallery.

As they planned the exhibition, they realised they could expand through the house, with the showcase featuring exisiting work and some created especially to fit the space from 15 artists. Joe says: “We had an empty space and thought it would be a nice, clean space to exhibit some work and have a micro-exhibition. “From there we decided we could put some stuff in the garden.”

Joe is showing recent work from a trip in Kenya and Jon is reinstalling a sculpture in the garden that was originally commissioned for Greenbelt Festival in Cheltenham this summer.

The work goes on display at Crescent Gallery, 31 Crescent Road, Hadleigh, with a private view on Friday from 7pm-9pm and on Saturday. For more information, see crescent-gallery.com
