BASILDON Council has started work on building a temporary road for the planned evictions.
Oak Road resident Len Gridley, 52, said around 50 police, bailiffs and security staff were in the area at the junction between Oak Road and Oak Lane, Crays Hill.
The council say the temporary access to the site will be used for emergency services.
