A MAN robbed hundreds of pounds from a Co-op store in Maldon after threatening staff with a metal bar.
The man demanded money at about 7.50pm at the store in Cross Road on Monday.
He took a three figure sum of cash and cigarettes.
No-one was injured.
Police carried out a search and enquiries are ongoing to find the suspect.
He is described as white, aged in his 30s and of stocky build.
He is about 6ft tall and has blue eyes, and wore a black waterproof jacket, jeans and black shoes.
His face was covered with a grey mask.
