CONCORD Rangers manager Danny Cowley has said cannot wait to get started for the new season and dismissed talk linking him away from the club.

The successful young manager attracted interest from Chelmsford City over the festive period and finishing ninth in the Conference South in the club’s first season at that level and winning the Essex Senior Cup have led to rumours that Cowley may be courting notice from other clubs.

However, Cowley, inset, has re-affirmed his commitment to the Beachboys and says he is concentrating on getting the club ready for the 2014/15 season.

“I have been here for eight seasons and we have grown together in that time,” said Cowley. “I took over as manager after my playing career ended and we have come a long way – we have been good for each other.

“In football you are judged by your results and last year we had a very good season. When you over-achieve it means you have to go again and do better. I am under no illusions I have to work harder than ever to ensure we have another successful season and I am looking forward to it.”
