COMMONWEALTH Games-bound Hayley McLean ran the second fastest time of her life at an international meeting in Linz, Austria, on Monday.
McLean, from Stanford-le-Hope, ran 56.50s in Austria to finish fourth in a high class field.
She will travel up to the meet the England team in Manchester on Monday before flying to Glasgow for the Games.
Jessica Judd will be joining her Chelmsford AC team-mate in Glasgow, but first she is running the 800m in the Diamond League in Monaco tonight, at 8.25pm. The race will be screened live on BBC3 with their coverage starting at 7pm.
Meanwhile, Basildon AC's Gemma Kersey appears to be coming into form.
Kersey ran a season's best 800m of 2m 7.3s at the Watford BMC meet on Wednesday, which came off the back of her second fastest 3,000m time ever in Manchester five days earlier where she clocked 9m 16.03s.
Her training partner Adam Hickey is also running into form as he ran a season's best of 3m 48.8s in the 1,500m at Watford, following his 8m 10.14s 3,000m in Manchester.
