ADAM Flanagan suffered defeat at his old club as Concord Rangers were beaten 2-1 at Dartford.

Defeat in the FA Cup last weekend had put Concord under even more pressure, considering their disappointing start to the league season.

And it was a return to his old club for manager Flanagan, as he bid to repeat last season’s 2-1 win.

The Darts started brightly, and Luke Wanadio saw an effort saved by goalkeeper Ben McNamara in the opening throes.

Concord were looking bright on the counter-attack, although Steve Cawley was unable to get a sight of goal early on.

Tom Wynter sent a header over for Dartford, with Elliot Bradbrook hammering just off target as the pressure intensified.

But the goal didn’t come until the stroke of half-time. Duane Ofori-Acheampong profited from some good work by Danny Harris to strike into the top corner past McNamara.

Into the second-half, Concord came close to levelling only for Deren Ibrahim to make a splendid save to keep his clean-sheet intact.

Harris made it 2-0 on the hour mark as Ofori-Acheampong made ground down the right and crossed to the near post for Harris to power home.

Concord were still looking for a breakthrough and it came in the final five minutes. Neat work on the edge of the area saw Jay Dowie strike home to give the away side hope.

But there was to be no equaliser.
