l RUNDOWN: Great Wakering Rovers are in desperate need of a positive result after their home humbling at the hands of Heybridge Swifts in the week.
However, a trip to AFC Hornchurch is not the easiest of assignments for any side, let alone one short of confidence.
Wakering’s inconsistent form has been of huge frustration to all at the club, with first-team manager Gary Ansell stepping down last night.
First-team coach Rob Polkinghorn is expected to lead the lead tomorrow.
l SKIPPER'S VIEW: Wakering captain John Easterford said: “For someone like me who prides themselves on results it was a very bad day against Heybridge. People are letting themselves and the club down. That is clear as that was a must win and we didn’t come close.
“Every game is becoming more and more important as we are slipping down the league and those below us are picking up points.
“We need a result and lot of work needs to be done on and off the pitch. Anyone can beat anyone - I believe that - and we need to be on our game but our day doesn’t look like coming at the moment.
“But we know that one good performance could make the difference.”
