l RUNDOWN: Canvey Island are eyeing up a repeat performance when Lowestoft Town make the trip to Essex tomorrow afternoon.

A 3-0 win in Suffolk earlier this month has been one of very few bright spots on the pitch in recent times, although there were signs of improvement this week. Following 6-0 and 4-1 home defeats, the Gulls were unfortunate not to leave Hendon with all three points as they drew 0-0 on Tuesday.

But manager Danny Heale will want a real improvement on home turf, with no wins, one point and 19 goals conceded to show from their last five at the Frost Financial Stadium.

Lowestoft have responded to the 3-0 defeat to Canvey by winning their last three in league and cup.

l MANAGER’S VIEW: Gulls boss Danny Heale said: “We haven’t been playing that badly but when someone shoots against us it seems to go in. We are moving personnel around to make the team more solid and should have beaten Hendon. We have something to build on.

“We were excellent at Lowestoft a few weeks ago but they are a big club with good players. We have had our horrendous spell and need to move past it now and push onwards."

l TEAM NEWS: Dominic Green and John Mbamarah are doubts, Ryan Blackman is out, Junior Luke and Joey May have left the club.
