CRAIG Edwards admits Billericay Town could have an entirely new back-line for their clash with Burgess Hill Town tomorrow.

Edwards has made a number of recent acquisitions as new owner Glenn Tamplin continues to flex his muscles in the transfer market.

Danny Fitzsimons could make his debut, having been struggling with an injury since linking up with the club from Margate at the end of November.

Full-back Oliver Sprague is expected to start while a former Football League centre-half is also set to make his bow for the club.

And Edwards said shoring up the defence was important in the weeks to come.

“Defensively, we need to tighten up,” he said. “Oliver is a player I have admired for years and I am very pleased to have signed him.

“He is an athletic left-back with a great left foot. Full-backs are hugely important to the way we play and he will be a valuable addition.

“I hope to sign a centre-back who has played hundreds of Football League games before the game and has great experience so things are looking up in that area.

“The attacking side of things are very potent,” he added. “We have Michael Bakare who has scored three goals already and Billy Bricknell has two in two as well.

“Lewis Taaffe, Kresh(nic Krasniqi) and Quentin Monville have all got goals in them among others so that department looks very strong right now.”

Sprague has been a hugely consistent performer for Hendon in recent years, helping them to second spot in the Ryman Premier League in 2014/15.

He has also represented England C in the past - a team made up of players based in non-league - and have courted interest from a number of professional clubs.
