l RUNDOWN: Bowers & Pitsea will be keen to continue their excellent league form against fellow play-off hopefuls Phoenix Sports tomorrow.
Just a point and a place separates Bowers and Phoenix, seventh and eighth in the standings respectively, although Bowers do have three games in hand.
Five straight wins for Bowers has put them back in the hunt for the top five, while early leaders Phoenix have stumbled in recent weeks. Although, after a run of nine without a win, they have won the last two.
l MANAGER’S VIEW: Bowers manager Rob Small said: “We mixed things up against East Thurrock (6-1 Essex Senior Cup loss) to give players that haven’t been playing a chance to shine and give those that need a break time to recover.
“It could prove to be a stroke of genius if we play well or it could take the wind out of our sails and kill our momentum. We were leggy at Wroxham last Saturday so I felt we needed some fresh legs.
“We will find out tomorrow how much of an impact the East Thurrock result will have.”
l TEAM NEWS: Vinny Durrant became a father for the first time this week so is ruled out.
