l RUNDOWN: Great Wakering Rovers’ continued search for points continues at Witham Town as they bid to end a run of three straight defeats.

Last weekend’s 1-0 loss to then bottom side Thamesmead Town was a spanner to the plans of Wakering boss Keith Wilson and he will need an improved performance and points return at Witham.

Witham have not won in the last four matches but sit in the relative safety of mid-table ahead of kick-off.

Wilson’s men have played more games than the sides around them and must start picking up points soon if they are to avoid the drop.

l MANAGER’S VIEW: Wakering boss Keith Wilson said: “We had a full scale training game to give the players some minutes. We need people up and running and I have looked at the pattern of play but I don’t want to overcomplicate things.

“We have the quality and need to want to win more than the others. We need that ruthless streak and are capable of winning games.

“We watched Witham lose against Phoenix Sports and they have some lively forwards but there will be areas we can exploit.

“We need to go and grind out a result and take something from these next two games (also Haringey Borough).
