CONCORD Rangers manager Adam Flanagan insists that his side have ‘more than enough in the dressing room’ to climb away from the National League South relegation zone.

The Beach Boys take on Oxford City at the Aspect Arena on Saturday, and are currently in the drop zone.

A disappointing home defeat to Weston super Mare last time out saw Concord miss out on the chance to improve their survival chances, and Flanagan was disappointed with the performance.

The Concord boss said: “We were extremely poor in the first half against Weston.

“We didn’t retain the ball well enough when we had it and took too long to win it back.

“We were very slow in transition, physically we were weak and our decision making was indecisive and incorrect so in every way possible it was extremely frustrating.”

Flanagan admits that he is nervous heading into Saturday’s game, but is looking for a response from his side.

“I want to say I am confident but being truthful I am nervous purely because of what happened in the first half on Saturday,” admitted Flanagan.

“Good players and good teams find a way to bounce back so Saturday gives all of us an opportunity to do that and it must be something we look to take.

“We are third from bottom and have 18 games left. Every game is massive for us.

“We can’t have any other thought in our heads, regardless of the opposition.

“It’s getting to the point where we need to dig in and kick away from where we are in the league.

“Every game that passes and we haven’t done that then it is a missed opportunity.”

The Concord boss is, however, confident that his side can climb away from trouble, and victory over Oxford could see the Beach Boys claw their way out of the relegation zone.

“I feel we have more than enough in our dressing room to move away from the relegation zone,” confirmed Flanagan.
