RUNDOWN: After going on a superb nine match winning run in the Ryman North, Bowers & Pitsea have come crashing back down to earth having suffered three consecutive defeats.
Callum Leahy’s first half red card was a major reason for Bowers not being able to hold on to their lead, and lose 4-3 to Brightlingsea Regent in midweek.
But Bowers boss Rob Small has admitted that he is now more interested in the performance of his players rather than results after already staving off relegation.
Small, whose side are still in the play-off places, will be looking to get back to winning ways against a struggling Heybridge Swifts side.
MANAGER’S VIEW: Bowers boss Rob Small said: “There is no confidence issue. We have lost three games in a row but the last two have been on a knife edge.
“We know that we are a good team and competitive in this league.
“The main aim was to remain in the division and we are now building towards something that will make us more competitive for next season.”
TEAM NEWS: Despite Callum Leahy and Ross Adams both being sent off in the defeat to Brightlingsea Regent in midweek, the duo are available for the trip to Heybridge Swifts.
