CANVEY Island manager Danny Heale admits dropping two points on Saturday was a big blow ahead of several potentially tricky Ryman Premier League games.
The Gulls drew 1-1 with Harrow Borough on Saturday, but Heale said they should have won the match.
And, with games against Leiston tonight and Bognor Regis Town on Saturday, the Gulls chief says not taking three points on Saturday was hard to take.
“It was a good reaction on Saturday after the 5-0 loss at Worthing,” he said. “We should have taken our chances and they scored their only chance all game and it was so fortuitous but that is how it’s going for us.
“We need to start winning games now. We have some tough games coming up and we know how hard it is going to be. We needed the points on Saturday and didn’t get them so we need to look ahead.
“It will be tough tonight but we have nothing to lose.”
Canvey are 23rd in the league but are just a point from safety.
George Allen and Ryan Blackman miss out by John Mbamarah returns for tonight’s match in Suffolk.
