l RUNDOWN: Canvey Island are entering one of the most important phases of their season as they look to drag themselves away from the relegation zone.

The Gulls next four matches are against sides currently 15th or lower in the standings and a profitable points return from these games is a must if Canvey are to ease their plight.

Met Police lie 16th, only seven points above the drop zone although they have been boosted by three excellent wins on the bounce.

They also won the reverse fixture 2-1, although Canvey have a good record at Imber Court in recent times. They are unbeaten in their last three matches at Met Police although less than three points tomorrow would be less than satisfactory.

l PLAYER'S VIEW: Gulls goalkeeper Conor Gough said: “I am so happy to be back (having recently returned from injury). It is awful watching the team struggle as you want to help. But I am back, I feel sharp and I hope we can push on.

"Everyone knows the position we are in. We are looking at Met Police and we have a good bunch with experience of non-league which is important.

"I try and use the pressure to encourage the others. Every player is different but I like playing with pressure. I feel I perform better and we all need to be doing that.

"We will get out of this only if we perform as a team."
