Aveley 1-1 Bowers & Pitsea

(Bloomfield 34’: Adams 30’)

From Mill Field

Ryman North

BOWERS & Pitsea shared the points in an entertaining clash with play-off rivals Aveley.

Both were in with a great shout of securing a play-off position after some good recent form, and it was the visitors that had the first site of goal.

Brad Warner stung the hands of the Millers goalkeeper, before Fahad Nyanja blasted over when well placed.

The recently-returned Jamie Salmon was kept out by goalkeeper Clarke Bogard before the visitors did deservedly move into the lead.

Lewis Clark sent a long throw into the penalty area and the advancing Ross Adams flicked into the corner of the net.

But that lead was short-lived.

Four minutes later, Marcus Bloomfield did well to run across the penalty area and arrow a strike beyond stopper Rhys Madden.

Level at the break, the Millers looked the more likely at the start of the second period.

A flurry of corner came to nothing, although Madden had to be alert to tip a strike over the bar as it ended all square.
