BILLERICAY Town crushed second-placed Needham Market to make it four straight wins in the Ryman Premier League.
Four first-half goals put Craig Edwards’ side in charge to lift them to within eight points of the play-off positions.
It took just four minutes for Billericay to take the lead, Abs Seymour driving into the net from the edge of the penalty area.
Lewis Taaffe, Kreshnic Krasniqi and Billy Bricknell had good chances although Town were to get a second before long.
Rob Swaine volleyed past Danny Gay through a crowd of players and three minutes later it was game over.
Adam Cunnington celebrated his first goal since signing with a trademark header.
Bricknell got his goal on the stroke of half-time and it was a similar story after the interval.
The hosts created numerous chances as they looked to stretch their advantage, and it came 18 minutes from time.
Cunnington headed in once again to make it 5-0 although the pick of the goals was arguably still to come.
Isaac Layne, fresh off the bench, took on four Needham players and slotted across the goalkeeper.
