l RUNDOWN: Great Wakering Rovers’ tough run of games continues with a trip to top five contenders Cheshunt.

Wilson has lost 12 of the 18 league games he has presided over since taking the reins at end end of October, and it looks as though that will not be enough to keep the basement club in the division barring a dramatic turnaround in form.

Wakering are 12 points from safety with 11 matches remaining, having played more games than those around them.

Cheshunt are fighting at the other end of the division, with the Hertfordshire side occupying the final position in the play-off places at the time of press.

l MANAGER’S VIEW: Wakering boss Keith Wilson said: “We were excellent for 55 minutes last weekend so to lose 5-2 was unbelievable.

“It was an easy team talk and we started the second-half well but we couldn’t live with them for 20 minutes.

“The pressure is on and supporters are not happy.

“We go to Cheshunt knowing how hard it will be.

“The fixtures have not been kind in the last month. We must keep believing and keep going. We need something fortunate to go for us and if we can go in front we can hold onto it.”

l TEAM NEWS: Jake Gordon is available after he became a father, Scott Pethers returns to the squad.
