Concord Rangers 1-1 Dartford

(Cawley 87’ (p): Hayes 21’)

CONCORD Rangers scored a late penalty to secure a well-deserved point against promotion chasers Dartford.

Ryan Hayes gave Darts the lead, but Steve Cawley converted an 87th minute spot kick to get back on level terms.

The visitors had a goal ruled out for offside early on, but Hayes gave his side a deserved lead when a counter attack was superbly put together.

Concord looked to get back on terms and came close as Cawley created an opening and struck powerfully but Deren Ibrahim was equal to it.

Jordan Chiedozie almost equalised when he latched onto a good pass and drilled low, but Ibrahim got down to make a smart save.

Dartford came close to doubling their lead on the stroke of half time, but were denied by the crossbar.

The Beachboys were much improved in the second half, and started to impose themselves on the game.

Numerous attacks amounted to nothing for the hosts until a neat move led to Chiedozie being mercilessly chopped to the ground, leaving the referee to point to the spot.

Up stepped Cawley, who sent Ibrahim the wrong way to level the scores with only three minutes left on the clock.

Late substitute Lyle Della-Verde also appeared to be tripped in the penalty area in injury time, but the referee waved away the claims.

Dartford came close to a fortuitous winner, but the ball deflected off a Concord shirt onto the upright and wide.
