A SINGLE goal was enough to condemn Great Wakering Rovers to defeat at Ware.
Already relegated, Rovers may have fancied their chances against Ware, who are looking to stave off relegation.
Alaa Oudji got the winner midway through the first-half in what was a feisty match.
It was a goalkeeping error that decided the encounter, with Ashley Harrison letting the ball in at his near post when he may have expected to do better.
Nikki Beale can maybe consider himself fortunate not to have seen red, with the home players claiming the Wakering defender had headbutted an opponent.
But Wakering toiled in the sun, with their only shot of note coming from Neil Richmond.
The result sees Wakering drop to the foot of the standings.
